Noonan Building Artist Suzy Barnard will be included in an upcoming show at the SFMOMA Artists Gallery, at Fort Mason in San Francisco. The show, entitled "Lure: Bay Area Artists Explore the Sea," brings together works by Bay Area artists who look to the sea as a primary reference in creating art. The exhibition, which is in recognition of the America's Cup sailing regatta taking place this summer on the San Francisco Bay, offers a water-centric exploration of a vital Bay Area resource that is the basis of daily life and culture, attempting to reveal fresh insight and meanings inspired by the region's seas.
Besides Suzy, other artists include Julie Alvarado, Leo Bersamina, Willard Dixon, Jessica Dunne, Nancy Genn, Colin Gift, Julian Hoenig, Katina Huston, Abner Kingman, Janel Leppin, Ian MacLean, Bonnie Neumann, Judy O'Shea, Susan Parker, Emily Payne, Kent Roberts, Tim Svenonius, and Marie Van Elder.
The show will be up at the SFMOMA Artists Gallery from June 15 through August 15, with an opening reception on Saturday, June 15, from 1pm to 3pm. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30am to 5:00pm For directions, visit their website.
